ABOUT THE SERIES::

The Freedom Film Society is proud to announce our second annual "Reel Queer" film series. The series will transform Asbury Park's hottest nightclub, Paradise, into a cinema-by-the-sea for select Wednesday nighs in August. The series is sponsored by Asbury Park businesses Carmine's, etc..., and Paradise.

The series will open with Aleksi Salmenpera's award winning Finish comedy/drama "Producing Adults".

The second film "Saturday Night at the Baths" is a lost gem of 1970's gay cinema and offers the viewer a trip back in time to New York's famous Continental Baths.

The series will close with a special segment of short films programmed by Vancouver based curator Bill Taylor. "Lock Up Your Sons and Daughters: Anti-Queer Films from 1950-1990" is a rare collection of "educational" films that remind us of the ignorance and bigotry of past decades.

Each of these campy productions are sure to get you laughing with their melodramtic writing and over the top acting.
